FUTURE MUSICAL STARS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO EXPERIENCE FIVE DAYS OF MUSIC AT THE MUSIC MAKER SCHOOL SUMMER ENSEMBLE WORKSHOP PROGRAM!
This one week intensive summer course, which will be offered 3 times over the summer will give students the opportunity to work on rock, blues or jazz with professional musicians and teachers. It will inspire and motivate students while stressing the importance of setting and reaching goals. Students will work together as they learn the importance of self discipline, goal setting and camaraderie.
Students will be placed in bands with other student musicians at their level. They will be taught essential skills needed to be in a band. In addition to learning & writing songs, they will learn about stage presence, and how to operate musical equipment. They will play a gig at the end of the workshops.
The summer workshops are held at the Music Maker School and the gigs are held on our outside deck where friends and family members are invited to join us and enjoy the show. The Music Maker School will be accepting 25 people in each week, ages 9–adult so early registration is recommended.
HERE'S HOW IT WORKS
Musicians will be placed in bands upon registration and each band will be led by an experienced musician and teacher who will guide them through the rehearsal process.
Bands will meet Monday – Friday for rehearsals from 10 a.m. –1 p.m.
Throughout the rehearsal and performance process students will learn about what equipment they’ll need and how to get the best sound out of it. They will also learn about stage presence and what to focus on as a performer.
This week-long workshop will culminate with a pizza party for the students on Friday from 1:00 - 1:30, then a gig where students will showcase their work. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. each day with the gig scheduled the evening of the last day at 7:30.
REGISTRATION
Students are welcome to register for as many weeks as they wish. Once registration is received, students will be placed in a band. This workshop will be very popular and fill up quickly, so be sure to register early.
