Rock Band Summer Program
This one week intensive summer course which will be offered 3 times over the summer will give students the opportunity to work on rock, blues or jazz with Music Maker School instructors. It will inspire and motivate students while stressing the importance of setting and reaching goals. Students will work together as they learn the importance of self discipline, goal setting and camaraderie.
Students will be placed in bands with other student musicians at their level. They will be taught essential skills needed to be in a band. In addition to learning & writing songs, they will learn about stage presence, and how to operate musical equipment. They will play a gig at the end of the workshops.
The summer workshops are held at the Music Maker School and the gigs are held in our school where friends and family members are invited to join us and enjoy the show. The Music Maker School will be accepting 25 people in each week, ages 8-adult, so early registration is recommended.
Bands will meet Monday-Friday for rehearsals from 10 a.m.-1 p.m.
Throughout the rehearsal and performance process students will learn about what equipment they'll need and how to get the best sound out of it. They will also learn what to focus on as a performer.
This week-long workshop will culminate with a pizza party for the students on Friday from 1:00-1:30, then a gig where students will showcase their work. The dates of the workshops are listed below. The workshop runs from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. each day with the gig scheduled the evening of the last day at 7:30p.m.
Students are welcome to register for as many weeks as they wish. Once registration is received, students will be placed in a band. These Workshops are always very popular and ll up quickly, so be sure to register early.
