Sergei Ioannisyan

Sergei Ioannisyan was born in Nalchik, Russia in a family of musicians. He started studying piano at the age of six, drums and percussion at nine, and was accepted to music college in Nalchik, Russia at the age of fourteen. He studied there for three years, before he transferred to Mussorgsky College of Music in St.Petersburg , where he received his Bachelor of Music degree. In the same year, he continued his studies at St.Petersburg State University of Culture and Arts Masters program. Sergei then moved to the United States and graduated from Berklee College of Music with a BM in 2004.

Performances in the United States include: Symphony Hall, Berklee Performance Center, Ryles Jazz Club, Hynes Convention Center, The Boston Ballet and the Wilson G. Chandler Recital Hall.

Performances abroad include: Jazz Philharmonic Hall, JFC jazz club, "Kvadrat" jazz club, "Street life" jazz club and Television in St.Petersburg, Russia.

Sergei has been teaching and performing for over fifteen years internationally and in the US.
