Noriko Asami

Noriko Asami, born in Osaka, Japan, is a Pianist, Arraigner and Composer.
She started studying music in Japan when she was 4 years old. As a young adult, the Yamaha Music School in Osaka chose her to attend special classes with an emphasis on composition, arranging and ear training.
Noriko was subsequently licensed as a professional piano teacher and taught 7 years in Yamaha Music Schools in Osaka and Yokohama, Japan.
Along with teaching, she has performed many times on various Japanese stages in the role of soloist and also as an accompanist of violinist, flutist and vocalist.
In 1996 Noriko attended music seminars in Vienna, Austria with a concentration on chamber music performance. During this same time period she performed as a piano soloist with the Rijeca Chamber Orchestra in Rijeca Croatia.
Upon returning to Japan, she continued her piano performance and composition and also completed arrangements for Japanese string chamber music ensembles
Noriko arrived in Boston in 2001 to begin additional music studies at the Berklee College of Music and completed her studies, graduating in 2004. Upon graduation, she continued her piano performance in both solo and accompanist roles. She also started a new business creating and selling musical jingles and advertising arrangements to companies in the New England area.
Foundational to all of Noriko's rich performance and teaching experience has been a commitment to let the music student realize that music is fun and a friend that can be cultivated to last a lifetime. She wants students to enjoy their life by playing and listening, by letting the music become imagination for life.
